Kudos to Mark Shapiro for recognizing that often the best move is no move at all. The Tribe will be stronger in 2008 because of the experience gained in '07. Giving a solid team a chance to repeat their successes from last year will give every player a confidence boost.
The ALCS was the best series last postseason, and the Indians fell just one game short of being the team that spanked the Rockies. Cleveland will compete just fine this season.
It's not unreasonable to think the Indians just might make the Fall Classic--and face a NL team which also resisted cashing in the farm: Two shrewd free agent signings could be enough to allow the Dodgers to duke it out with Cleveland in October....
