Brezec to miss 2 weeks for exhaustion, dehydration
Brezec missed a portion of training camp and sat out three of Charlotte's eight exhibition games because he wasn't feeling well and had been losing weight. In the offseason, he played for the Slovenian national team at the world championships.
``We feel that rest is the best overall care for Primoz,'' said Dr. Joe Garcia, the team physician, on Wednesday. ``With this period of rest, Primoz should be back to 100 percent strength for the remainder of the season.''
Brezec, selected by the Bobcats in the 2004 expansion draft from Indiana, averaged 12.4 points and 5.6 rebounds in 79 games last season. But his commitment to his national team has left him weary.
Coach Bernie Bickerstaff, who was criticized two years ago for saying he was concerned about forward Emeka Okafor playing for the U.S. national team, was careful with this words when asked if he was concerned about Brezec's commitment.
