Kolb is an insurance policy, plain and simple. After several years of needing a replacement, the Eagles want someone they are grooming for the future. Anything can happen in a given season. McNabb is at the top of his game, and can lead the Eagles to several Super Bowl victories if the conditions are right. But the opposite can happen too. It is better to have someone on the QB roster who is younger than 30 and can be a developmental pick.
