Barry Bonds, I'd like to ask you to do one thing, and that is apologize to the fans and the game of Baseball. For what you might ask? For using Steroids and tainting the game. Its very upsetting that one of the most respected records in all of sports is about to be broken by a Cheater and a Liar. Atleast if you come clean and admit to your steroid use, then its only a Cheater that is breaking the record.
Now Barry, I know what your asking yourself. How does this benefit you? Get over it, its not about you. Its about the fans, the integrity of the record, and about the game of Baseball. That's right its about the game as a whole, you know the thing you played as a kid, to go out and have fun. When it wasn't about the money, or your simple desire to do anything necessary, including use steroids, to break records. Plus the American people love to give second chances. Giambi came out and apologized and he has more fans than ever. So, hey Barry, maybe an apology could work for you too.
And to be honest until you do finally man up and admit that you used steroids, the record's prestige will continue to drop and your status as one of the greats will always be in question. It will never be: is the best ever? It will always be: did he take steroids or not? If you answer that question for us truthfully, which means you admit to using steroids, then we can get on to the other question which is: where do we rank you amongst the game's greats?
I'm just trying to give some advice and I hope that you will take it to heart. Afterall, the only direction that your name can go is up, because its already lying on the bottom of the barrell. But I think that if you would just admit it, apologize and then tell kids not to do it, that you have a chance to atleast earn back some dignity and a little respect for the Baseball Fans, which should be your main concern.

Unfortunately, Barry doesn't understand the word apology, or contrition. I guess you could liken Barry's position to someone who has a drinking problem or a gambling problem. Its getting them to admit they have a problem. All of Barry's God given natural ability will always be overshadowed by the black cloud he brought over himself. And why??? Because Mark Mc Gwire and Sammy Sosa were getting all the attention a few years ago. Was it worth it Barry?

Would we be having this discussion if Mr. McGuire were the one about to break the record? I highly doubt it. I know he cheated, he knows he did. But when McGuire and Sosa were chasing the homerun record, no one was saying anything. When bonds beat them, Steroid cr@p started to come up. Its a witch hunt. But thats my opinion.
