01:19 AM ET  10.05 | Inspired by an article I read today, I have decided to start a project here on FN.

 

The article came from Grantland and talked about a "Renegade Basketball League." Here's a link to the article

Basically, the article talks about players forming a league on their own. The league would be an 8-team league with 10 players per league in numerous cities across the USA. The article talks about 16 co-captains (2 per team) to start with.

 

For this project, I'm looking for either 4 or 8 people (no in-between). If we got 4 people, we'd each control 2 teams. If we get 8, it's one team per person. We would first draft cities for which your teams would be located. It would be a random order and no city currently with an NBA team is eligible. Once we draft cities, we'll do a reverse order to draft coaches for the teams.

 

Then, we'll draft players. Like I said, we'll have 10-player leagues. It'll be a short schedule considering we only have 8 teams - somewhere in the neighborhood of 28 games (4 games against each team).

 

But this isn't just some normal fantasy draft. For those that heard of the conference redraft project some of us did, this will be similar to that. I'll require a write-up describing many things including...

There might be more things to discuss in the project, but we'll publish all this on a wordpress or blogspot website in the end.
