Turner Motorsports in seperate announcements Tuesday advised employees about the possability of downsizing for next season, and the release of Reed Sorenson. This comes after Dollar General stated it will not return as a sponsor for the organization in 2012.
Brian Vickers was announced as Sorenson's replacement for the next two races "as a proven winner in at NASCAR's highest level in addition to being a driver at Turner Motorsports over the last four seasons."
Sorenson is currently 3rd in points, 27 behind Ricky Stenhouse and has one win and 18 top-10s.
That is a summery of an article over on SI.com. Nova had already reported about Dollar General and the employee notification, but the Sorenson release is just a big surprise. Here is a driver contending for the championship and you drop him for a Cup driver. But then again as a former NW Champion I am totally sure Vickers being in the series will result in sellouts in Kansas and Charlotte.

I can see why Home Depot would want a real driver and not little Joey. They had problems with Smoke's behavior but at least he won some races and had some toughness to him. Little Joey is just a wet behind the ears loser. No really what the corporate image Home Depot wanted to project.

Bounce the candy sponsor over, appropriately enough, to the kid, and Kyle adds DG to the conglomeration of sponsors already rotating on his car.

I thought the same. Ihave not had the M&M Pretzel things, but have found in San Fran, Giadell.... whatever that famous chocolate is....covering a salty sourdough pretzel if effin GREAT!
