Ben Gordon has a lot of flaws in his game, but the biggest one is that at the end of games he is a liability to the team. Neither Skiles nor Boylan seemed to pay attention to the fact that at the end of the game he is the guy that always gets the inbounds pass, and almost every time he manages to turn the ball over. Most of the time he'll foolishly try to drive the lane with three or four guys that are bigger than him in the way and the result is a lay-up for the opposition. Other times he'll hold the ball but fail to run out the clock so even if he gets a shot up and makes it the game is still not over. At the end of the game he makes the same couple of mistakes over and over and over again as if one day he'll suddenly have the talent of Michael Jordan and be able to win the game all by himself. Gordon is certainly negligent for not practicing for end of game situations to get better, but the Bulls' coaches are contributorily negligent for continuing to inbound the ball to him in that situation when he has shown no signs of improvement. I think by now other teams have caught on and want Gordon to get the ball in the waning moments of the 4th quarter so they can pressure him into a turnover. The Bulls have lost a lot of very close games the past two years because of Ben Gordon. If the team ever wants to achieve any margin of success, this trend of Gordon costing them games has to stop, one way or another.
