Bye weeks are here, and it is time to fill in those open positions. Like a lot of players, you have a week in week out starter at the QB position, and only need a guy to start for one week only. On the flip side owners might be dropping these QBs to pick-up their spot starter.

Obviously you're not going to get Brady or Brees for a spot start. So who to go with? Since things can change on a weekly basis, I am only focusing on one week at a time:

 QBs on bye this week:

Romo, Dallas

McCoy, Cleveland

Bradford, StL

????, Miami

Grossman, Was

Flacco, Baltimore

Stay away from ANY QB potentially starting in Miami, even when they had a healthy Henne (or Pennington), they're still a very run first team.

Pick up Colt McCoy if someone drops him. He will be a good QB for the coming bye weeks:

Week 6: Oak (#22 passing)

Week 7: Seattle (#16 passing)

Week 8: SF (#27 passing)

Week 9: Houston (#10)

Who to pick up for this week if available?

Mark Sanchez... yes I know

So far this season he has thrown 2 TDs  in 3 out of 4 games. His one shut out was against the Baltimore Ravens. Got to cut a guy some slack for a very good D shut him down.

This week he plays NE. NE is ranked #32 in the league on pass defense.

Even more, Sanchez v NE in 2010:

220 yds, 3 TD 0 int

164, 0TD 3 int

194, 3 TD 0 int

Now, there's a clunker in there for sure, but at this point, you're not looking for an every day starter, just a place holder for the week.

Don't trust Sanchez?

Kevin Kolb v #28 pass D Minnesota

Josh Freeman v #27 SF

Donovan McNabb v #26 Arizona (Minnesota might have a QB change in mind though, so I would stay away, but if McNabb does start, the Vikes are known to at least play one good half of football. Which is all that matters in Fantasy world)

Just get through the bye, and good luck.

QUOTE(#1):

Good stuff. I'd add Jason Campbell. Averaging well over 300 yards a game in losses, and this week Oakland travels to Houston.

I assume at this point Jason Campbell and Cam Newton are no longer available. If not, then you have bigger waiver issues.
