It's a sad day in the NFL; Al Davis has passed, even though I didn't know him personally I often told people he was my grandpa. Yes, just the mention of his name has gotten me many places in life I never would have gotten otherwise. So in commerration of Al's passing I'm only going to talk about sad things in the NFL that bother me today;

 I'm sad today that we are going to have another week having to listen to anything about Tim Tebow. Poor Kyle Orton has to be laying in bed at this moment cryiing his eyes out praying to the ghost of Joe Theisman that some horrific injury will soon befall Tebow.

Im sad that Donovan McNabb hasn't had a visit from the ghost of Joe Theisman either. I've never been a McNabb fan, but I could at least respect him for his talent and his ability to leave everything he had on the field. Good quarterbacks, much like good horses, should be put down before they become a shell of their former selves; left to gimp around and make us cringe as we try to remember what they once were.

 Im sad that the media isn't making an even bigger deal of Reggie Bush's failure in Miami. There's just something so glorious in seeing such a selfish egotistical prick like Bush fail miserably. It's always so nice when kharma finally catches up to people.

I'm sad that Brett Farve has to resort to dimissing Aaron Rodgers accomplishments just to get himself back in football news. Its really getting pretty desperate for attention Brett when you stoop this low.

 I'm sad that David Garrad is pulling a Chad Pennington and taking a year off; lets see how good that does for his career

I'm sad that the Eagles have won one game; when are teams going to learn that loading up in the big free agent market isn't a way to win in the NFL? Hired guns just lack chemistry together; too much ego and not enough ass to cover the checks they all write.

Im sad that the Seahawks won; mostly because it means we can't simply forget about them. If they keep wining we wont be able to simply write  them anymore.

 It makes me sad that Pearlman will still not apologize for what he is doing to Payton's reputation. Sorry loosey piece of s%$ anyways.

There are countless problems I have with Tebow.

The guy has done nothing in the NFL to deserve even the slightest bit of attention; absolutely nothing. There are hundreds, thousands of guys who are good players, even halfway bad players that contribute so much more to their teams then Tebow and we never hear about them, instead we have to listen to a never ending series of stories about an overrated fullback who thinks he can play quarterback.

and I swear to God if they ever make him a starter I'm probably going to be forced to stop watching football all together, just because of the ungodly amount of time every sports show will devote to arguing about the most effective way to utilize Tebow. It will be like when Michael Vick played for Atlanta; every damn show would not stop with the same never ending repetitive waves of BS. A group of guys arguing that Tebow should be used this way, another group arguing this way, and God forbid he ever have a good game; that will only fuel the fire more,
"See he has talent if he could just put it together like this every week Dan,"
"Yeah JB, I predict that he will put it together like this every week from now on, because as we know, Tebow is the greatest thing since sliced bread."

But he wont ever put it together, because he DOES NOT HAVE THE TALENT TO BE A PRO QUARTER BACK. Let me repeat HE DOES NOT HAVE THE TALENT TO BE A PRO QUARTERBACK. and we the fans of football will be forced to listen every analyst, every sports writer incessantly yammer on about him. It's like when you turn on the radio and there's some horrible song on that they just keep playing over and over again and you can't understand why anyone would ever think thats what music is and no matter how much you scream at your radio the song just keeps on over and over again and you have no idea who wants to hear it. Thats what Tebow is to football.

Then there's just something about that perfect boy scout routine that plays; it just seems so phony and so out of place in football. In a way that though that will be the saving grace of Tebow; because a person that goes to that great of lengths to portray himself as that saintly has got to have some major problems hes trying to hide, major problems. So I figure they'll probably make him the started in Denver for the next game, I'll be forced to have to stop watching football for a few years until its revealed that the only way Tebow can get an erection is to suffocate a kitten. Then he'll be banished from the league much in the same way Vick was, and hopefully unlike Vick he will never return and I can go back to watching football in peace.

Agreed. Except for the stop watching football, erection and kitten suffocation parts...

I always wonder how many potential HoFers never got their chance or werev in the wrong system or the regime changed and they were swept out with the old. I use Kurt Warner as my example of right place right time when the Rams purged their #1 & 2 QB's after the 1998 season he got to move up to #2 behind FA Trent Green who if he doesn't blow his ACL we never might have heard of Kurt Warner

I have no problem with Tebow or any other player getting their chance. I agree that far too many players don't get the chance they deserve. Let them give Tebow his chance, and if he turns out to be a great player then thats fine; but until then I don't need daily updates on all things Tebow, and I don't need to hear a word about a guy that started the season as a third stringer and is certainly only starting the next game because Denver is so woefully bad there's no hope of salvaging their season and have simply handed all strategic planning over to the fans whim. (I really can't help but think Denver wants Tebow to fail miserably just so they can tell they're fans, "We told you so.")
