Jeff Hostetler - Football is Life

TCU board members met and agreed to join the BIG-12. Thank goodness. Who really wanted to see TCU vs UCONN on thursday night. I know I didn't. Also which fans would actually travel all the way from Dallas to see that game? NO ONE! Good move by TCU to move in!

Now the BIG-12 has 10 teams. I know...math does not help you with this conference realignment. 10 teams if Missouri does not bolt for SEC. Now who do you get to make 12 teams. The question it about money and tv deals? powerhouse teams to build strength? If your the BIG-12 what are your goals amd requirements to get those other2 teams.

Lets go over this list:

BYU- they bring a strong fan base where ever they go. Strong academics. Great facilities. Sounds like a good fit for me. BYU does have their own televisions like the LONGHORN network and it could be a problem. Bring them in...BOOM 11 teams now. Oh wait you do not want them...let us keep searching.

SMU- They just beat TCU. They have a strong base. They are in a big TV market. Good Coach. Things are looking up for this program. I feel the fan base will let SMU make the necessary expansions and really help them grow. Just make they pay their players more than other big-12 schools so they can compete. Oh wait, TCU has the Dallas market...guess we need to keep looking.

HOUSTON-great coach. Good team. Huge TV market. Fan Base can be there with a move to the BIG-12. Bring back some old rivalries. I like what they have to bring to the table.

Those are the BIG-12 choices I have. Here is how I would set up the North and South division to make it work.

North: Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Missouri, and Iowa State

South: Texas, Texas Tech, Baylor, TCU, SMU, and Houston

Do SEC rules with one cross conference rival to make sure Texas and OU play. So that can make it work. The conference money will start flowing and the rivals will grow. It will be awesome. I would pay big money to see that. Plus OU vs Texas in the championship game probably 4 out of 5 years in a row!

Any thoughts?

Other News....Arizona Fired Mike Stoops. I would after losing to Oregon State and starting off 1-5. He had it coming. I am sure his brother will have a spot for him at FSU or Oklahoma. The PAc-12 South is such a mess....I would have let him finish it out! Oh well! Who they gonna hire now!

BYU makes sense. I don't know if adding another Texas team does. Yes, they are natural fits but I have to admit I'm intrigued by Tulane. I remember reading a blog on ESPN suggesting that the Green Wave were being looked at, and if that's true then the Big 12 would do well to expand into Louisiana and the New Orleans market.

I think they should get
If its about Football and winning then get BYU and BOISE STATE
Boise State stinks at everything but football and football is what it is all about!
Just get them....see if they run with the BIG DOGS!
