This blog is for all you Portland Trailblazers haters. I have lived through the glory days of 21 consecutive playoff appearences, early 90's with clyde the glyde, and have lived the 12 minute collapse in 2000 to the much despised Los Angelos Lakers. I have been through the Jailblazers days and endured the worst record in the league in 2005 with 21 wins on the year. For the record I did attend over 20 home games that year. Just to make it clear that i am not jumping on the bandwagon created by their recent rise. This Blazers squad is legit right now. This blazers team will make the playoffs this year as a lower seed. The reason for this shocking rise so fast is inessence the youth. I know that goes against every analyst out there and history has proved that mostly correct in the past. Let me explain, This roster consists of not one self centered ego. This is a very humble group that is just happy to be playing the game they love for a proffession. You will not see that on any other team in the league. The chemistry with this team is unmatched by any other in the the league. And how has that happened? YOUTH. They are all friends. What did Brandon Roy do when he won his first western conference player of the week award? He took his entire roster out to dinner to celebrate. He did the same thing the following week when he won it again. This friendship blossomed over the summer when 10 of the 15 players on the roster showed up a month before training camp to start putting in work. Not one other team in the league experienced that over the summer and that speaks volumes. This team plays for wins not contracts. Joel, travis, and blake all excepted lower contracts to wear a blazers uniform this year. I know the road recordis bad but it is only improving. If the blazers can manage to play better than .500 basketball on this next seven game road trip than i believe they will have a chance to win their division. With getting the winning culture back in Portland this year, and with ODEN patrolling the paint, and RUDY FERNANDEZ running with us next year we are in position to be the next dynasty in the National Basketball Association. Yes that is right, for the next decade to come we will own not only the Western Conference but the the entire league as well.

The winning culture is back. This team reminds me a lot of the '91 Blazers in terms of the clear friendship and team cohesion. Who could equal a core of Clyde, Terry, Buck, Jerome (the Hardest Working Man in the NBA), and Kevin?
(In case you hadn't guessed, I've been there suffering right along with you.)
