It seems that it's that time of year again in Philadelphia when McNabb season is open. Did you buy your license to go rumour hunting? Philadelphia is a notoriously difficult place to be a sports figure or any newsworthy person at all. There is no way that McNabb can win against the media right now. He did his best by selecting certain venues so that he could express his point of view without asking permission from his bosses. Now all you hear is that McNabb is whiny, his parents and agents speak for him, etc., ad nauseum. It would be wise for all sports readers to take anything that comes out of the media whether local or nationally with a grain of salt. There is nothing else for the Phila. media to cover. Sixers and Flyers are done, Phillies are floundering, and the Soul is for the most hardcore football/sports fan. So most media members have to find a big story in what is essentially a non-story. My only hope is that McNabb is able to work through this with his usual class and stoicism, and that Kolb is taking notes so he knows how to handle himself when he's on the hotseat someday. Either way I'm looking forward to seeing how this team comes together and challenges their opponents each week.
