Well the first round is over and the votes are in. After tallying there were admittedly some surprises, and some blowouts, and some close finishes, one coming down to the final vote.

Without further adieu, here are the winners:

The 1-16 Matchup featured Ass and the mighty TNerb57. The upset minded Ass was allowed to go first, to debate the topic of "Who won the Jay Cutler trade?". Arguing for his beloved Bears, Ass jumped out to an early lead. But TNerb, holding true to his unique style, threw a curveball and argued for Kyle Orton. The FN vote was close, giving TNerb and 15-14 win. The tourney vote was just as close, awarding TNerb a close victory. TNerb wins

The 2-15 Matchup pitted the highly ranked MMT against the seasoned vet Golden Grillz. MMT allowed GG to go first, and decide whether the Bills are real or not. Golden Grillz jumped out to an early lead in the FN voting and went on to win in convincing fashion. The tourney voting was almost the same. Golden Grillz wins

The 3-14 Matchup can best be described as a doozy. Two of FN's most respected veterans, CCC and Rude. The two impressively argued about who should be the next hot NFL prospective coach, similar to last year's Jim Harbaugh. CCC, defending Rob Ryan, and Rude, defending Les Miles battled it out to a tie in the FN vote. There was no tie here, but it did come down to the final vote. In the closest first round matchup, CCC wins.

The 4-13 Matchup was forfeited by RSP. OJ Simpson wins

The 5-12 Matchup was a shocker. Sweetness prepared to take on Yankees on a Jamarcus Russell Re-Do. Sweetness was clearly ready to take down Yankees and in the biggest blowout, dominated him. Sweetness wins.

The 6-11 Matchup was forfeited by Argos. Dyhard wins

The 7-10 Matchup was between myself and L.A. Ahmad. Debating whether Calvin Johnson or Wes Welker was the better NFL receiver, L.A. Ahmad pulled out a close victory in the FN vote, but the tournament voters disagreed. In a vote that wasn't nearly as close as in the FN vote, PatsFan21 wins.

Finally, the 8-9 Matchup featured the respected vets MarlinsFan and FlamboGus. Trying to persuade FN who the NFL's most overrated team is, FlamboGus started the TD and took the Eagles and MarlinsFan counterpunched with the Jets. They tied on FN, but not here. In a close vote, FlamboGus wins.
