Are you ready for Tebow Mania? If not then you better get ready for it. Tim Tebow is now once again the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos, and quite honestly it is about time.
Kyle Orton should have been traded before the season ever started to the Dolphins for a couple of draft picks. Orton is a decent quarterback at best and they missed a big chance to dump him on some other franchise, for the last year of his contract before he walks while getting something in return. He hasn't had any support from the fans since the lockout has ended, and it hasn't looked like he has had much support from his teammates or coaches as well. Tebow hasn't proved anything yet, but he will now get that opportunity.
This is the best year to try out an unproven quarterback for your franchise, because if he succeeds, then you look smart and you could very well have your franchise quarterback for the next ten years. But if he fails, there is still a potential reward awaiting your team come April. There are three top quarterbacks that could all be in this upcoming draft, Andrew Luck of Stanford, Landry Jones of Oklahoma, and Matt Barkley of USC. The ultimate prize in this draft is Luck of course; he has all the tools to potentially be the next Peyton Manning, if not even better. But to get him the Broncos would have to be worse than their next opponent the Dolphins, as well as the Colts and Vikings. That's where Jones and Barkley would come in as nice second and third options.
With their schedule still consisting of the Lions, Raiders, Chargers, Patriots, and Bills; their chance of winning too many games don't look very good. But that's why I think starting Tebow now is the perfect time; he adds a new energy to your one win team, as well as a new challenge for opposing defenses to prepare for with his ability to run the ball.
Tebow is a different type of quarterback than what most people are used to, he's energetic and always giving 100% no matter what the score is. Who knows, maybe all the "luck" the Broncos need is already on their roster wearing number 15.
