The more I get into the gym, and the more football movies I watch make me miss high school football even more. From what I experienced, the drama and things tv make h.s. football out to be didn't really exist in my h.s., granted, we weren't C.B. West (state champs), or North Penn (future Ravens coach), so we weren't a high powered team, but the just the feeling of suiting up and playing under the lights was a feeling of pride. If you watch the state champtionships for high school, the level of play is just so intense. College is great, but the pure level of high school is tough to rival. Anyway, this is my first blog post on here, and this is what was on my mind...

I play highschool football. Next season is my senior season, and I dread the feeling that I know I will have when I have played my last play. The feeling I get under the friday night lights with the crowd roaring can not be compared to anything else I have ever felt.

I'm a graduating senior this year, and since I don't plan on playing football in college, I'll really miss it too. Just the fact that I won't ever get the chance to suit up and play with some of my best friends and people I have known my whole life. I'll miss screwing around at practice, and being in the huddle underneath the lights on Friday nights.
For those of you still playing high school ball, make the most of it while it lasts. :)

I always loved high school football. Heck I still do! Sure, I never played it but I had an attachment to the sport to say that I was involved with it. There was nothing like Friday in high school. The team and cheerleaders would be in their uniforms or jerseys that day in class, and the buzz would build throughout the day for the game that night. Then the lights are on and the concession stand is cranking, the bands are playing, fans are cheering and the coaches are yelling.
This has inspired me to go to a high school football game or two this year. I always try to make my school' s Thanksgiving eve night game every year, but they didn't have it last year because my hs was in the playoffs.
