Looking at the Rocky Mt. News today and reading the Sports section, I pondered on the failed train wreck of a season. What went wrong for the Orange and Blue this past year? Well let me start by quoting (Mike Shanahan) in his post season interview,"The job is to win football games, and I didn't do a very good job." No kidding Sherlock! You didn't do a good job? You really think so? Yeah, it takes a big man to blame himself for the faults of his organization, but this is getting old and fast. Mike Shanahan said it himself," I just think that if I had done a decent job of coaching,we would have won 10 games or more." So there it is,straight from the horse's mouth his coaching skills are now sorely lacking. The Mastermind is now a shadow of his former self. Tha sad part is that it is not only the Coach, but the President of Football Operations who is at fault. There is only one player left from the 2003 and 2004 college (Drafts). (DJ Williams) is the only player left from two drafts that should have supplied the core of the 2007 and 2008 teams. Who was the man responsible for selecting those players? Yes, you're right, Mike Shanahan. So, if Mike Shanahan said he did not do a good job of coaching this past year; What would he say about his "Talent Evaluation" skills? Let's turn the page on this failed experiment of a season, just like the failed (Jim Bates) experiment and choose the "FUTURE" instead of living in the past. So long fellow bloggers and here's hoping sanity makes a stop in (Denver) this OFF SEASON!

Alright here I come,
Lets look at the good that comes from this season,
The class of 06 looked great, better than great AMAZING, and the class of 07 wasn't too shabby as well. So the truth is there is young talent there.
Now say we got 10 wins this season, then what? Get waxed by Indy (I won't say NE b/c Shanahan has the Pats number).
Year after year the Broncos have had an above average team, but that is it. And every year they sign a few big names to try and get over the hump. not this year, this season we saw that this team has been buliding from the ground up.
Yeah no playoffs in 07, but this team is growing, and when they get back it will be as contenders.

Yeah, we're ALL evaluating what went wrong this season. This ain't news.
What WOULD be news, would be Shanahan pulling a Gibbs (meaning, step down from coaching AND front-office). Like THAT'S gonna happen??
I'm just hoping Snyder doesn't screw THIS coaching pick up (like Spurrier)!!! Bill Cowher or Russ Grimm; EITHER of those two work for ME!!!
Which makes me think: if Shanahan DID leave, who replaces him?? Never thought about that...

The Broncos finished about where they should given their talent and the loss of Darrant Williams due to a tragic death in the offseason.

Until yesterday I would said the entire AFC West was a disaster season but SD put up a good fight and held on for dear life and a win. Unfortunately I don't see their plucky defense and duct tape offense doing much of anything in NE; especially with the weather conditions.
