Top 10 Most YouTube-able College Football Clips of `07

In case you did not know, 2007 was one of the greatest years in college football history. As the season ends, it is time to take a look back at the season that will forever be remembered as one of the most exciting, most unpredictable seasons ever. Through the course of my writings, I have been known to utilize the great site that is YouTube (have you heard of it?) once or twice (read: a lot more than I probably should). So, I now give you the Ten Most YouTube-able (yea, I made up a new verb) moments of the 2007 college football season.

First the clips that didn't make the Top 10...

Dan Hawkins started the crazy YouTube year off early with this rant that stemmed from a letter that he received from a parent of one of his players. 2007 then took a sad turn as Indiana coach Terry Hoeppner lost his battle with brain cancer (more on that later). Once the season started, Darren McFadden proved that he was worthy of being the frontrunner for the Heisman trophy. As he struggled through a mid-season slump, Tim Tebow took the driver's seat, and even a late season push could not push McFadden ahead of the scintillating sophomore. 2007 also gave us the rise of the Hawai'i Warriors and their Heisman hopeful Colt Brennan. As the season wound down, the people of Missouri and Kansas were finally given the kind of football game that they have been waiting 100 years for. The bowl season was defined by big plays and great moments, but none as memorable as the loveable idiot Chris Jesse.

There they are - the clips that were good, just not Top 10 material. Now, without further ado, the Top 10 YouTube-able moments of 2007.

10. Austin Starr Wins One For Hep: In the last letter he wrote to the team before he died, Terry Hoeppner signed his name, then wrote a simple but poignant message, "Play 13", meaning go to a bowl game. At 6-5, the Hoosiers knew that a 6-6 record may not be good enough to go bowling. Tied with rival Purdue in the battle for the Old Oaken Bucket with 0:30 to play, Austin Starr lined up for a 49-yard field goal, and Terry Hoeppner's dream was realized. And his wife was with the team every step of the way.

9. The Bowl Song: I don't know if you have heard of this guy, but I have grown mighty fond of internet musician Ryan Parker. With this song, Parker pretty much summed up the feelings of all of the college football fans who wish that there would be a playoff.

8. The Soulja Boy Phenomenon: Unless you lived under a rock the entire summer/fall, or are over the age of 40, you heard the song "Crank That Souljaboy" by Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em. Heck, I even wrote an article about it. Well, this song absolutely took over the high school and college sports landscape, and was played at every football game which I attended this season. While Sebastian the Ibis offered the best version of it that I have seen, Army's Black Knight was not to be outdone...
