Marion Jones had a dream, sold her soul to the devil to get it, lived the life, collected her short term earthly rewards and is now paying a terrible but just price for her misdeeds!

Marion Jones is not the first nor will she be the last famous Celebrity to fall from grace in disgrace because of bad personal choices that they've made, are currently making or will make....the list is long and distinguished; but this sad but true fact doesn't make it less of a senseless, needless, deeply troubling and acceptable tragedy every time it happens!

I'm a glass half full kind of guy and I always like to look at the upside of things, so no matter how bad things may seem at this current place in time....a lot of good can and I feel will come from not just the Marion Jones situation: but from the entire ever growing steroid or performance enhancing scandal(s) period!

The Judge that sentenced Jones was in my opinion correct when he clearly articulated the fact that fame and fortune has great rewards, but it also comes with great responsibilities...especially to young and impressionable kids that no matter how we try to spin it, look at it, position or reposition it, ignore it and or shape them, mold them, scold them or hold them...will always look up to high profile athletes and other Celebrities as role models!

Marion Jones, like many celebrated Athletes and other superstars before her that have fallen from grace in disgrace, can land on her feet if she so chooses to do so! It won't be an easy task by any measure, more than likely a far greater challenge than she's ever faced in her life.....but if she is truly and sincerely sorry for what she has done and is willing to show this through her actions; then she can earn her way back to an acceptable level of respectability!

Milions of kids once throughout the world that once looked up to her as a role model, are probably now more than ever, very confused and wondering how could such a thing happen and why??? This is the most important and opportune time for not only Marion Jones to reach out to the millions of young lives that she has touched over the course of her career and to explain to them that the way that she attained success was wrong and not to follow in her footsteps, but also for all athletes and other high profile Celebrities (not in just sports) that like it or accept it or not are role models and should make it a personal individual and or team mission to take a quality moment to talk to their young fans, kids in their respective communities and to do any and everything that they can to set good examples as responsible public figures and yes once again  "ROLE MODELS"!

The best reward of fame and fortune is to be a good role model for kids...and that's priceless!

But then again, this is just......

One Man's Opinion!
