What an amazing weekend of football. Since I already blogged the Jags game, I will  provide my thoughts from the other 3 games, although the second game yesterday was kind of hazy due to the amount of NyQuil I was sucking down.

<!-- Bob Sanders might be the defensive POY, but I think that this weekend both Atari Bigby and Marlin McCree made receivers fearful with the vicious hits they were dealing out. McCree’s hit on Reggie Wayne was absolutely brutal.<!--[endif]-->

<!-- The footing on the field at Lambeau was bad and it was obvious that the ‘hawks didn’t bring the 3” spikes necessary to gain traction. The Packers didn’t seem bothered by it on either side of the ball.<!--[endif]-->

<!-- What was with Marcus Pollard? That guy couldn’t catch a cold. I have played in white out conditions like that when I was a lot younger and it is not that bad. He flat out whiffed on those two passes.<!--[endif]-->

<!--  I think that Favre will come back next year, win or lose. He just looks like he is having too much fun and this team looks to be good for years to come. I kind of feel sorry for Aaron Rodgers and his fu manchu porn ‘stache, but it is Favre’s world and he is lucky to be a part of it.<!--[endif]-->

While Ryan Grant has established himself as the number one RB on a team that is suddenly filthy deep with them, we have witnessed the passing of a former rushing title winner. Shawn Alexander was my go to back in FF for 4 years. He is done. He doesn’t run with any passion, plods to the hole and falls at first contact. I think that he will be out of the league after next year at the latest. He is a great guy and I hope that he goes on to enjoy his life outside of football.<!--[endif]-->

<!--  The first thing that I noticed about the Colts-Chargers game was the weird noise was present again at the RCA dome. It is not noticeable when the opponent is on the field because it is so loud. When the Colts have the ball, it sounds like a sound tube is being employed. No wonder people leave that stadium with a headache. I have to turn my SRS down when watching games in that stadium.<!--[endif]-->

<!-- Dan Dierdorf should not be allowed to call games in any league where people can here him. It is petty for me to make fun of someone’s disability, but his lisp and slurping of everything Colts just sickens me. It is no fun to watch a game in an irritated state like that.<!--[endif]-->

<!-- Philip Rivers throws the ball funny. I have read all the stuff about it, but shouldn’t he have fixed that now that he is not 6 years old. I used to make excuses for Leftwich and his monumental wind-up but you have to wonder.<!--[endif]-->

<!--  Speaking of irritated states, does any team in the NFL benefit from officiating mistakes like the Colts? The only team that benefits more is the Steelers. The officiating in that game yesterday was so obviously bad that the likes of Peter King mentioned it this morning in MMQB. The NFL needs to seriously take a look at this. The players and the play should determine the outcome, not some bias from officials. I am just happy that the Chargers were able to overcome this adversity.<!--[endif]-->

<!--  Nice pickup by the Chargers at the deadline. It is good to see Chris Chambers doing what he has always done. Too bad that the fish thought that he was through.<!--[endif]-->

<!--  Volek looked shaky on his first drive (who wouldn’t?), but he showed remarkable poise when it counted most on the game winning drive. No Rivers, no Tomlinson, no Gates, no problem. <!--[endif]-->

<!-- Turner and Sproles did a nice job filling in for LT. Sproles TD reminded me of KState-OU in Big 12 championship. He is pretty quick. Just not as quick as Cromartie.<!--[endif]-->

<!--  Quentin Jammer has become a nice corner in the NFL. Drayton Florence has not. Please get rid of him and get a much better nickel guy.<!--[endif]-->

<!--  The Chargers have not lost since getting embarrassed in Jacksonville. The highlight of that game is still shown on ESPN when Merriman got blown up by MJD.<!--[endif]-->

<!-- Finally, Philip needs to STFU. When you are being berated by fans in the stand and you have won the game, just point at the scoreboard and wave goodbye. You are gaining a reputation in the league as a punk and I am not sure your dad, the coach, would appreciate that. Please start acting like a professional.<!--[endif]-->

<!-- I guess the axiom that it is hard to beat a team 3 times in a season still rings true. The Giants deserve all the credit for pulling out a game they had no right to win. I absolutely hate the coaching staff in NY (they are all from Jacksonville’s Coughlin days), but they played as a team. Much different from the way they fell apart at the end of the season.<!--[endif]-->

<!--[Toomer’s TD catch and run showed how poor Dallas is in the secondary. That guy might be the slowest human being alive. He shook off two tackles and outran the entire secondary of Dallas. I am not taking anything away from Toomer, but come on. That guy is sloooooowwwwwwwwww.<!--[endif]-->

<!--[Too much is being made of Eli’s coming out party. No not that way. I am happy to see that he is coming out of the shadows of his dad and brother, but he has been nothing but average the last 3 weeks. That this is an improvement shows the growth that he has shown. Too many times in the past he felt like he had to make a play and did, albeit to the other team’s advantage. He seems to be maturing as an NFL qb and it is good to see. I actually like him more than his brother.<!--[endif]-->

<!--[Statistically, Dallas dominated this game. That is why stats don’t mean anything. It was amazing that Dallas held a 13 minute TOP advantage, destroyed the secondary of the Giants and still lost the game. Sometimes it may be destiny.<!--[endif]-->

<!--[A lot has been made of Romo’s trip to Cabo, but this was not the place where the game was lost. I think that the distraction of the interviews for other jobs took a toll on a team that on paper was significantly better than the Giants. The offensive play calling was spotty and the defense was terrible.<!--[endif]-->

<!--[I listened to the media all week tout the Giants and I must admit, I was not a believer. I give a slight nod to Romo over Manning, Dallas’ running game over NY’s and Dallas’ receiver corps over NY’s. Romo and Manning were about even. Bradshaw was awesome and Jacobs is a beast. Crayton was as big a goat as Northcutt for Jax, and I see a bright future for that Kevin Boss kid. As much as I like Shockey, Boss should be the starting TE for this team next year.<!--[endif]-->

I didn’t have the opportunity to go out and interact with the public yesterday as I have been down with a wicked cold. The best part is trying to stay coherent while in the throes of the big Q. Unfortunately, I have to work next weekend, so I will all of the early game and some of the late game.
