So... what can I say about 7-9?
I stated at the beginning of the season I would be happy if the Lions went 8-8, and I was elated when they went 6-2 after week 8. I can't say what exactly happened to the team I saw beat Chicago, Denver and Tampa Bay, but they appeared to pull a Harry Houdini act and vanish until the Cowboys game of week 14. They lost, but they showed up to play.
In the end, all I can say is the Lions need to shore up their consistantly weak O line and haphazard secondary. I've never been a Backus (T) fan and his performance is mediocore at best. I like Raiola (C), but he isn't as consistant as he should or could be. Foster (G)... I can't go there without throwing something at my computer screen. Woody (G/T), the one bright spot of the line, had better be back next year. I love Megatron and I feel he has a great future, but sometimes I really wish we had taken Joe Thomas (T) in the draft.
While I feel letting Dre Bly (CB) go was the right decision at the time, I wonder how we can fix the weaknesses in the secondary with the personel available and Bly was a decent corner. Not a phenom, but decent.
Kitna... I like the man, I'm so-so on his play. I think he will serve better as a mentor for Stanton than as a savior for the Lions.
This is my first blog, and as such I am keeping it short and varied, until I can throw together something not on my lunch hour and establish a meaningful dialogue about the Lions as a whole. Please feel free to leave your comments in praise or disagreement with my positions.

They crashed back to earth once their competition had some teeth, unlike their first 8 weeks.
