Here are five observations from this week in sports.

1. Golden State and Utah are really re-energizing my, and many others, interest in the NBA. David Stern and his staff in New York have to be praying for a Golden State-Phoenix Western Conference Final. No disrespect to the San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz, who are both great teams, but I think everybody outside the Alamo and Salt Lake City (and the soon to be carpel tunneled scoreboard operator) would gladly view a Suns-Warriors series.

2. Speaking of the Golden State - Utah series, Andrei Kirilenko, Baron Davis has just  inducted you into the Craig Elho, Bryon Russell, Hakeem Olajuwon, "wrong end of a highlight" Hall of Fame. Has any guy in recent history stepped his game up to this pantheon like Baron Davis has during these playoffs? He has played like an All-NBA first teamer for a month now.

3. Adam Jones, dude you need to drop your appeal and take it like a man. You have been one step away from trouble your whole career. Roger Goddell is doing you a favor. Get your life together, because you are one heck of a talent. You could be an example of bad guy turned good and touch kids that are hard to reach.

4. John Paxson, you might want to go after a legitimate post player this offseason. Detroit has completely exposed your undersized, jump shot happy roster and your challenge this offseason is to shore up the middle offensively, so that the Gordon's and Hinrich's can do their thing with space.

5. The Milwaukee Brewers are for real. You have to start to think about how dangerous the J.J. Hardy, Rickie Weeks, Bill Hall, Prince Fielder, Tony Gwynn Jr. lineup will be over the next few years. They could win multiple championships if the Selig family opens up the coffers to tie these guys up contractually.

Not only should Stern root for a Warriors-Suns Western Conference final, but he should root for a LeBron/Cavaliers Eastern Conf. title. Could you imagine? LeBron vs. the Underdogs from Oakland. I like the sound of that.

I agree. That would be a great NBA Finals between the Cavs and the Warriors.
