As of right now, Andrew Bynum is not the most dominant center playing out of California. Chris Kaman is quietly having a breakout year on the other team that plays in LA. Statistically speaking he is dominating this year. And the sad thing about it is, most NBA fans have never even heard of the fourth year pro out of Central Michigan. In his previous three years as a pro he has averaged a modest 10.1 points per game, to go along with 8.1 rebounds. This years number don't even compare. Through the first quarter of the year he is averaging 17.9 points per game. In this catagory alone he has raised his average by almost eight points per game. In large part because of ELTON BRAND being out for the year. But that proves he can score down on the block with anyone when given the chance. Even better he is a rebounding machine. Compared to his career average of 8.1 rebounds per game this years production is shocking. He is currently averaging 13.7 rebounds per game. Again, this breakout year is not a coincidence that Brand is out for the year. All this proves is that KAMAN can be a very, very productive center in the NBA when given the chance. Can anybody disagree that this guy should win the Most Improved Player Award? As of right now he IS the most underated player in the NBA. Credit needs to be given where credit is due. This guys legit.
