I'm a pretty lucky guy. I get a couple of breaks during the work day and during those breaks I like to put on my i-tunes radio and listen to sports talk. I love sports talk. Sometimes they make me laugh. Like Mike and Mike of ESPN. Sometimes they make me think. Like Colin Cowherd of ESPN or Andrew Siciliano (I'm guessing on the spelling) of FOX Sports Radio . And, of course, sometimes it drives me nuts. Like right now when I have to listen to Stephen A. Smith. OK, I guess I don't have to listen to him, but the alternatives are even worse. The point of my blog is this: Why must Stephen A. Smith constantly SCREAM AND YELL? I think he has some interesting points of view, but when he goes into one of his high pitched shrieks, I tend to tune out. Especially when he really gets going and begins spitting into the microphone. It makes no difference whether he is angry, happy, or being funny. He may start at an agreeable volume level but it is only a matter of time before he takes the volume up along with the pitch and then begins spitting into the microphone. Even as I type these words, Stephen A Smith is going off on the differences between white and black people in cold climates. What he is saying is funny. What he is saying is interesting. But he's now at the high pitched shrieking level and i just can't stand it. Stephen A., take it down several notches. I know it ain't gonna' happen. That's his shtick. But I just ain't tryin' to hear it anymore.

I would rather listen to Stephen over Emmitt or Gumble any day. Its all in looking at the glass being half empty or half full.

I can't stand Smith. So I just turn the radio off when he comes on. Sometimes I'll forget - not really paying attention to the radio - and then he starts his schtick. OUCH! To me, its like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Colin Cowherd is a complete tool. At 3, the good local radio shows start, so I don't listen to Stephen A. Smith. Mike Tirico's show should not be received in cars because it induces instant sleep. It turns you narcoleptic.

Oh wait. I forgot to add--literally.

He yells and screams to win the "most outrageous" title, IMO. Cowherd and Rome are in the same battle for this title, albeit without as much screaming. Definitely love/hate with these guys.

I find Cowhered interesting. Don't even get me started on Rome. Definitely not PHENOMENAL.
