Happy Halloween!  Hope every has a bootiful time tonight.  Watch out for the little tricksters and treaters out there tonight.  They just want candy, they're excited.  Be careful.  It was a scary time for a few teams yesterday.  It's time for some reaction from all of Sunday's NFL action in today's "stack", which starts right now:

Baltimore 30 Arizona 27

Did not see this one coming at all.  The Ravens looked downright pathetic in the first half, in all phases.  The offense was a disgrace.  Special teams gave up a punt return for a touchdown to Patrick Peterson.  The defense played pretty good, but still gave up some big plays including a 66-yard reception by Larry Fitzgerald.  At half, it was 24-6 Cardinals.  What?  Something had to be said at halftime in the Ravens locker room, because in the second half, Anquan Boldin and Ray Rice carried the team.  Boldin was the go-to guy (of course he wanted to have a great game against his ex-team) and Rice finished the drives, scoring three touchdown runs.  Billy Cundiff won the game with a last second field goal.  Maybe they fired Cam Cameron at halftime.  One things is for sure, the Ravens stole this game.  It should never have been this close to begin with.  But they found a way to win.  Up next: the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Can't have a first half like they did yesterday against the Steelers and expect to win.

Minnesota 24 Carolina 21

The Vikings may have something in quarterback Christian Ponder.  The rookie was poised and was clutch when it counted as the Vikings got the win.  It only took Ponder two starts to get his first win.  Cam Newton was once again his brilliant self, throwing for a career high three touchdowns, but he had two crucial fumbles that led to 14 Vikings points.  I will admit, I almost jynxed the Vikings.  With it 4th and 15, I said it was good to get a victory and it happened because I was wearing my road whites.  Then Newton hooked up with Brandon Lafell for 44 yards.  Fortunately for me, Olindo Mare took me off the hook when he missed a potential game-tying 31-yard field goal wide right.  The Panthers are competing in just about every game.  They'll get there soon enough.  The Vikings look like they have found their foundation at quarterback that could lead to a bright future.

Houston 24 Jacksonville 14

Perhaps the Jaguars gave the Texans more of a run for their money than the Texans thought or maybe the Texans were overlooking the Jaguars, thinking there was no way they would play as well as they did against the Ravens Monday night.  Either way, the Texans survived and improved to 5-3.  They can't play like that this again though and expect to beat the elite teams or maybe even win the division.  It just won't happen.

New York Giants 20 Miami 17

Count the Giants as one of teams that received a scare as though they just saw a ghost.  The Dolphins gave them a run for their money.  If not for a nice catch and run by Victor Cruz, the Dolphins may have won the game.  Eli Manning threw for over 300 yards and did not make a critical mistake.  Maybe the snowstorm caused the Giants to be off their game.  They needed this win though.  A tough stretch awaits them and it begins next Sunday against the New England Patriots.

St. Louis 31 New Orleans 21

I think I can explain this one.  It's very simple.  With Tony LaRussa and World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals in the house, there was simply some magic for the Rams that they took from the Cardinals magical World Series run.  How else can you explain what happened? Other than maybe the Saints looked like zombies at times.

Tennessee 27 Indianapolis 10

Rumor has it that some guys dressed up for Halloween as the Indianapolis Colts for Sunday's game against the Titans.  Oh wait, those were the actual Colt players?  Could have fooled me.  This has been a disgraceful season for Indianapolis.

Buffalo 23 Washington 0

A similar comment about Redskins offense like the one above about the Colts should be applied here.  That was pathetic.  This is the first time in 267 games that a Mike Shanahan coached football team has been shut out.  Give the Bils credit.  They will compete until the last week for the AFC East title.

Detroit 45 Denver 10

Tim Teb-ouch!  What an ugly game by the man who is supposed to Broncos fans saving grace.  Wonder how many fans will jump off the Tebow bandwagon and say they never thought much of him.  That was a butt-whooping by the Lions who needed a performance like that to silence the critics after losing their last two games.

Pittsburgh 25 New England 17

Wow!  What a performance by the Steelers.  They had a gameplan and that was to keep the Patriots offense off the field.  They executed the plan very well.  They ran 26 plays in the first quarter to the Patriots 3.  26-3!  How does that happen?  The Steelers had nearly a two to one margin in the time of possession.  The defense was flying around and confused Tom Brady.   Oh yeah, and Ben Roethlisberger had a good day himself, throwing for 365 yards.  The Steelers can' get too geeked about this win though.  Next week, they host the Ravens in what you know will be a very physical game.

Cincinnati 34 Seattle 12

Watch out for the Bengals.  This team is sneaky good.  Their defense is very good and they went to Seattle, a very difficult place to play and handled the Seahawks.  Of course, a punt return for a touchdown and a interception for a touchdown always helps.  And yes, the Seahawks aren't a great team, but given the youth of the offense and the bad year they had last year, any win is a good win for the Bengals.  Andy Dalton and A.J. Green continue to impress.

San Francisco 20 Cleveland 10

Another yawn game involving Cleveland.  It does need to be pointed out though that Frank Gore had 134 rushing yards and is now second in rushing yards in 49ers history.  That's pretty good.

Philadelphia 34 Dallas 7

Dominant performance from start to finish for the Eagles.  The Cowboys never showed up and that's saying something, considering the fact that Jerry Jones said they had this game circled since training camp.  Ugh.  That was ugly, even uglier than some of the costumes you'll see tonight.  Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy had huge games for the Eagles.  It was McCoy's running that was the real story.  He had 185 yards rushing and two touchdowns.  The Eagles were flying high on offense the entire game.  Vick was very accurate.  If the offense plays even close to this level the rest of the season, watch out.

Picks were 9-3 this week, (78-37 overall) and could be 10-3 pending tonight's game between the San Diego Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs.  The Chargers are looking to put last week's debacle agains the Jets in the rearview mirror.  The Chiefs have made a horrible beginning to the season into a season that is showing some promise despite the amount of injuries they suffered early in the season.  Going into Arrowhead is never easy.  Especially on Monday night and even more so on Halloween.  The Chargers though, are the more talented team and they will find a way to win this game tonight, 23-20.

Coming up tomorrow: MNF thoughts, World Series final thoughts and NBA lockout opinions.
