I was sadden to hear the news that one of boxing greats Joe Frazier had passed . Joe was a fighter who will always be connected with Ali in ring history . Joe was a fighter , Ali was a boxer , two different boxing styles in the ring . Joe was a christian , Ali was a muslim . Joe was called the white man's champion , Ali the peoples champion . White Americans were christians who supported Joe , not because Joe was as Ali called him an "U T " but they didn't like nor understand Ali's spiritual leader Elijah Muhammad and his ideology toward them . Joe was a man's man , a blue collar fighter who only knew one way straight ahead with a vicious body attack and a devastating left hook . Kill the body and the head would fall was his goal in the ring and his opponents fell to the canvas in most of his fights . Even Ali fell in what was billed as " The Fight of the Century " at New York's Madison Square Garden with each walking away with 2.5 million . My money was on Frazier that night and I collected from everybody on the base in Bitburg Germany . Joe Frazier was worth the price of admission whether you watched him on the big screen or ringside . He will go down as one of the top ten fighters in the history of the sport and will always be connected to Ali because their fights especially ' The Thrilla in Manilla will go down as the greatest fight in boxing history . My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and love ones . Thanks for the memories Joe , you were a great fighter and a great man and in my opinion during your reign as Heavyweight Champion . Joe you were " The Peoples Champ " RIP Champ !

I was glad to see Ali at Joe's funeral . Ali loved Joe they will forever be linked because of the best fights ever between two champions with neither giving an inch in their battles . Yeah Ali talked about Joe and Joe didn't like it but Ali talked about everybody to get in their head to get an edge and sell tickets . " The Thrilla in Manilla " will go down in history as the greatest fight ever with both men near death before Joe's corner threw in the towel . Two great champions one is gone and the other one will grieve for his friend .
