The NFL Draft. Why does it take place so long after the season? It's 2 months after the Super Bowl! Why? They do the Combine, they do some team tryouts, and then they draft. 1 month at most. I'm probably being greedy. I love the draft. It's my favorite sporting event that doesn't invole actual sports, just people being taken by teams. Great stuff. Now they shortened it so I don't have to sit through 15 minutes of Todd McShay, who is a Mel Kiper impersonator. I'm a Mel Kiper fan. He's so lucky. A bum who made some scouting reports, sent them to the teams, and now he has a job for ESPN. Lucky son of a gun.

You know who also has it good--Trey Wingo....looks like he never played a sport in his life, and he gets to talk football and make tons of money doing it...what I wouldn't give for that job
