Great game last night vs the Chargers. To be honest, I was very worried about this game due to the injuries, the horrible loss last week and the short week of preparation. But the Raiders shook off that loss and came to play.
Carson Palmer had a great game. He looked comfortable, he showed chemistry with the receivers and were it not for that fumble and pick, he was looking at a perfect passer rating. And even though he turned it over twice, it was because of pressure and not bad decisions which is definitely a step in the right direction.
Michael Bush ran, ran, ran! With 242 all purpose yards, the man was a beast on the field and showed everyone that he's a damn good back too.
Denarius Moore was unstoppable. His fingertip catch was a thing of beauty. For all the naysayers who laughed at Al Davis for his 'speed' draft picks, I would just like to say - Fifth Round Baby!
The defense was all over Philip Rivers. They beat up the offensive line and when McNeill went out and Dombrowski came in, they knew they had an opportunity to put Rivers on the ground. And that they did - 6 sacks and so much pressure it's amazing Rivers lasted the whole game.
The one thing this win shows me as a Raider fan, is that despite coming off a 2 game losing streak, this team has heart and determination. When they play well on both sides of the ball, they are true competitors. I can't remember the last time the Raiders were penalized for less than 50 yards in a game. Just goes to show when there is discipline, the Raiders are hard to stop.
From now until Sunday, the Raiders have sole possession of the lead in the AFC West. Enjoy it, Raider Nation.

That's it? You bug me for the blog and you post once sentence???
Just kidding, DJ. Wimbley was all over the place last night. Four sacks by him alone. They all played great though - a true collective effort.

We can sit in our loungers and say that but right now I am concerned with our tendency this season to play to the level of our competition. We kick Houston and San Diego and get hammered by KC and Denver? We are supposed to take care of business versus teams that are lesser competition.

Bush stepped up big time on Thursday night and Palmer played very well.

Normally I'd agree that this is true, but with KC Boller and Palmer sucked and with Denver...WTF.
Hopefully we don't have another WTF game against Minny.
But for now... 1st in the West!
