But Hornaday said while he appreciates the gesture, particularly after Busch sent him head-first into the outside concrete wall under caution at Texas, he has other options.
"I've got something else working," Hornaday said. "I've already signed a letter of intent."
Hornaday declined to disclose the team with which he has reached that point, but said his long-time manufacturer loyalty precludes him from jumping to a rival brand.
"I wouldn't do that to Chevrolet," Hornaday said. "Chevrolet's been too good to me, too long."
Then again Ron is just a old fogie like the rest of us and in it for the racing ....... and some money

He's a rare guy. I still think if someone put enough money on the table, he would change his mind.

They are all loyal until the pile of money gets higher on the other side of the table. In the years past, the drivers did have some loyalty, the were race car drivers not guys trying to make as much money as they can as fast as they can. Not that it's wrong, it's the American way.

You talk about brand loyalty to cars, which is nice, but these drivers are only being as loyal to their sponsors and brand as much as the sponsor/brand is loyal to the driver. How many times have we seen an established sponsor/driver combo disintegrate because the sponsor jumps to the new young driver who's going to set the world on fire only until they don't.
Ricky Rudd is a good example. He had Tide as a sponsor for years, until some new driver negotiated Tide away from Rudd as collateral for a ride.
When it come's to the classic brand loyalty I think a lot of people are forgetting it was the FANS that showed loyalty to the brads/sponsors/drivers more then the drivers or sponsors ever showed loyalty to each other.

Loyalty is a wonderful attribute to have.......but when it can cost you tooo much money and possibly stop your career, how can you possibly hang on to it?........good business decisions are tough and that applies to many more things than Nascar.
We all recognize that Nascar is a money driven sport....more than ever now.....but without it changing with the times like that....it would simply fade away.
