Every couple of days (hopefully, every day) I will cover a new topic of each team leading up to the Super Bowl.  I will release my pick and the score on Saturday, February 2, (the night before the game).

Defense

1/21/08:Lineman

Osi Uminyiora, Justin Tuck, and Michael Strahan, oh my!  They should be able to get to Brady and intimidate him a little bit more than the usuall defense.  They will give any offense a rough time, just as Brett Favre and the Packers recently realized.  The Patriots D-line is nowhere near as talented as the stacked Giants D-line.  Deymour, Wilfork, and Warren.  They are good do not get me wrong, but not nearly as talented as the Giants D-line.

New England Patriots

Seymour-2 sacks 23 tackles

Wilfork-2 sacks 48 tackles

Warren-4 sacks 53 tackles

New York Giants

Tuck-10 sacks 65 tackles

Strahan-9 sacks 57 tackles

Uminyiora-13 sack 52 tackles

So, as you can see, each Giant has better stats than the pats.

EDGE: Giants

So much for every day, so I will do everything tonight.

Linebackers:

Giants:

Kawika Mitchell-3.5 sacks, 76 tackles

Antonio Pierce-1.0 sacks, 103 tackles

Reggie Torbor-1.0 sacks, 39 tackles

Patriots:

Adalius Thomas-6.5 sacks, 79 tackles

Tedy Bruschi-2.0 sacks, 92 tackles

Mike Vrabel-12.5 sacks, 77 sacks

Junior Seau-3.5 sacks, 73 tackles

The Patriots obviously have a better linebacking core.

EDGE: Patriots

Corner backs, and Safteys

Giants:

Sam Madison-4 interceptions, 68 tackles

Aaron Ross-3 interceptions, 42 tackles

S

EDGE: Giants

Offense:

Linemen:

New York Giants:

Eli Manning is pressured, and when he is pressured, he makes mistakes.  They have done pretty well though.

New England Patriots:

Matt Light

Logan Mankins

Dan Koppen

Stephen Neal

Nick Kaczur

This line is spectacular.  They give Tom as much time as he needs.  And look where it got them 18-0.

EDGE: Patriots

Plaxico Burress-71 Receptions, 1025 yards, 12 touchdowns
