Dead Heat between the two vying for the championship yesterday. I thought Tony might be able to pull off three in a row, but it sounds like a small tire pressure change was not a good call by the CC.
On other Crew Chief subject, just read the transcript of the tirade that Kurt Busch laid on Addington when he ran out of fuel. Sure, it was a heat of the moment thing, and today they will all kiss and make up. But I think this kind of thing is totally uncalled for, unprofessional, and an indication of how much these guys are now prima donnas. NO ONE, in any sport, should unload on teammates like that. Head Coach, team owner, different story.
Now, here's my discussion item for the day: did anyone beside me think it strange that the #18 had TWO engine failures? yes, JGR had been plagued with issues earlier this year. Did somebody in the engine shop just happen to have a bit of an attitude this week? Is there a potential conspiracy theory here?

Beating up on Crew Chiefs and crews has become the norm. Harvick comes to mind with his wholesale firing.

Don't know what happened with #18 but Gibbs is going to be using TRD motors exclusively next year. he claims they have a much more extensive R&D Dept.

I thought the JGR engines were superior to TRD, especially since JGR runs rings around the other Toyota drivers. While they may blow slightly more engines then the other Toyotas they are pulling more speed too. And that doesn't include the human factor of the drivers taxing the engines beyond capability trying to race through the field as fast as possible.
Although the comment was probably more of a political, saving face, move then anything.

Prerace report on the engine that blew the first lap pf practice was that somebody "forgot" to tighten down FOUR rockers.

sounds to me like the formation of another Start and Park Team (from Jayski)
Creation Autosportif is excited to announce a partnership with NASCAR Daytona 500 winner Derrike Cope to form 'Creation-Cope Racing' (CCR). The venture will see the respected British Le Mans LMP organisation teaming up with the 30-year NASCAR veteran Cope, with the capability of entering cars in Sprint Cup, Nationwide, Camping World Trucks and K&N Pro Series, out of its race shop premises in Mooresville, NC.(

I think you are correct. I know Denny was running TRD and it really didn't matter what Sliced Bread was running.
