To mourn (or celebrate0 the loss of the other NBA, it's time for a Throwdown Tournament.

I stole the triangle offense from Phil Jackson to model the tournament after the three remaining sports: NHL, MLB, NFL/NCAAF.

Each bracket in the tournament focuses on one of these sports.  Each bracket has 9 participants, 27 total spots.

TOPICS

Topics will be loosely tied to the respective sport. Each participant will choose from two topics on the TD they start.

BRACKET ROUNDS

Bracket rounds feature head-to-head-to-head matchups.  For example, Participants A, B, and C face off simultaneously in round 1.

A challenges B
B challenges C
C challenges A

Each participant has two first round matches: one from the left side and one from the right side.

The other bracket rounds feature:
D-E-F and G-H-I

The winner of A-B-C faces the winners of D-E-F and G-H-I.

The winners of each sport bracket face each other for the NBA Championship.

BRACKET TIE-BREAKER

- The TDer with the best record in the round advances automatically.
- If all three participants win one TD each, they order reverses with the unchosen topic.  If all three partiicpants tie after the second series, the TDer with the most total votes advances.
- If two TDers finish 1-0-1, then the winner is decided by a head-to-head TD.  Left is determined by a coin flip.
