Andy Ally has been replaced by Mike Bliss in the #71.
Owner says he doesn't think they will run the whole race. Really?
Pretty bad when silly season starts shuffling the start and park rides. Poor Andy.

NASCAR does have it moments where you sit back wonder what in the world are they thinking

Andy Lally wasn't a start and parker for the most part, he tried to run the entire race. It is kind of bad when he's our Rookie of the Year.
I do think we will have a solid rookie class in a few years.
Hopefully Stenhouse and Dillon come to the Cup Series the same year.

I'd have to give that match up to Austin Dillon.
Stenhouse has had a great year, considering it is the NW series. But it wasn't that long ago, like last year I think, he could barely keep the wheels on the car.

also goes back to a point I mentioned a week or so ago.. This owner offers up that he doesnt think they will run the whole race.
I proposed a rule change that all teams must show up race day prepared (pit crew, tires for full race, etc) to run the full race. If not, position goes to the next best speed who will at least display that intent.
its to the point where deals are being made where front runners pick their pit stalls based on which start and parkers will be out of the way giving them easy access and exit.

amendment: if insufficient cars/teams are presented on race day with intent and equipment to run the full race, the field will be comprised only of those who do. If that number is less than 43, all the better.

like I said on the other BLog post ...
Why, run a Third Red Bull car #84 for Cole Whitt, for a Team closing the Doors ????
On the #71 switch, seem more about Andy Lally, Failing to qualify last weekend at Phoenix, and now the #71 is 28 points behind the #38 Front Row car for the Top35, and an automatic starting spot in the Top35 for the first five races in 2012.

Which IF going for the Top35, does not sound like a Start n' Park at Homestead

somebody had money to Pay them to do so, to give whitt the seat time. rumors he will have a ride in next couple years.
on #71.. owner openly said he didnt have resources, at least yet, to run full race. I guess the significance of it all is immaterial to the bigger picture.

Whitt has somewhat impressed in the Truck series. Over the summer he briefly lead the points for a couple of races, but the last few months have been a run of bad luck with wrecks and blown engines. Running him was probably a consolation prize, for the lack of a better term, since Red Bull is closing shop and he is their only NASCAR development driver.

I'll agree with Pond. If a team doesn't come to the track and at least pretend that its going to run a full race, then it shouldn't be allowed on the track.

I agree as well. What other sport allows teams to show up and only compete for part of a game and get paid for it?
Imagine a football team walking off the field after the 2nd series of downs. And don't say "so and so does" LOL

If you look at the PRACTICE SPEEDS PAGE on Jayski, you can tell who a Start n' Park car, by the number of Laps run ....
Final practice at Phoenix, top3 #43 AJ Allmendinger, 99 .. #4 Kasey Kahne, 94 ... #14 Tony Stewart, 91 ... bottom 3 #37 Mike Skinner, 8 ..#46 Scott Speed, 9 .. #7 Robby Gordon, 9 ..
only #7 Robby the Owner did not Park, was saving his equipment for the race ....
