"The night is darkest just before the dawn."

 Harvey Dent

Le'ts not freak out, now.  It's easy to look at the most recent bowl projections and freak out that a rematch could happen.  How preposterous! College football fans outside of the SEC might freak out that rednecks have taken over the sport. Michigan fans might be mad that Alabama might get preferential treatment when they didn't (even though everyone knows now that a rematch of the '06 "Game of the Century" was best not happening). Georgia fans might be mad that a team who didn't even win their division could get in unlike a non-divisional UGA team that was ranked #4 before #2 and #3 lost on the last week of the season (even though UGA fans settled down when thinking rationally about 'I guess it doesn't make sense to play for the national title when we didn't even win our own division.') Quite frankly, everyone in the SEC outside of Tide fans would be pissed that Alabama could make it into the BCS title game too.  So that makes just about every fan in college football not wanting to see a rematch.  So why is this even an option? Well, besides the BCS being an inherently flawed system, the media is to blame.  Yes I said it.  What are you gonna do media? Blame me for not playing by your rules?! Phhhhhh!  I blame these writers and ESPN sensationalists.  They love the tumult and conflict. So please don't buy into their prophecies of catastrophe; things seem to find a way of working out. The media is probably just ruffling our feathers...hopefully.

Another more rational explanation would be that LSU, Alabama, and Arkansas all are ranked 1-3 in the event of LSU losing and the SEC deciding who should go to the title game. I just hope that the pollsters drop the other two who don't make it to the SEC title game so that another conference champion can join the SEC conference champion (if the SEC west winner beats UGA, which is likely).

The season is a playoff? Let's see it.

I wrote a blog like this a couple weeks ago, called "Do Not, I repeat, Do Not Repeat LSU-Alabama."
One point that must be considered with a repeat of those two teams is, if Alabama wins, who is the champion? Both teams finish with the same record and both teams beat each other.

Good point. It is completely unfair to LSU to have a rematch.

No rematch, please.
