Reasons why no NHL team will ever be better than the Hartford Whalers

1. Most dedicated fans

I have never talked to any other people my age who have had so much loyalty to their home town hockey team. Everyone went to the Whalers games, and everyone looked forward to the games that they would attend with their friends, family or sports team. Attending the games became a weekend ritual for many.

2. Most fun to watch

Fans were always more involved than at most games. Everyone was always so excited to be there, watching their own team beat the crap out of people. In all of the games I have attended since the end of the Whalers, I have never experienced the atmosphere that was present during the Whalers games. If you have ever been to a game, you know that the energy that you could feel when the entire arena was chanting "Lets go Whalers" is something that is very rarely duplicated.

3. United the entire state

I have not seen another team which united the people of Connecticut quite like the Whalers. True, we have huge groups of die hard fans among us, however they are split. Many like the pats, yet many others are fans of just about every other NFL team. Half of us love the Yanks, and half the Sox. Everyone loved the Whalers.

4. They are still winning

Though they have moved far, far away, they are still winning championships.

5. Are you going to argue with me? You know you loved them too.
