I'm off of work today, so I'll see what you think about some opinions I have about some sports news I've come across recently.

-Tony Romo is now a Pro Bowl quarterback. I'm torn on this one. Even as a Cowboys fan, I never felt like he was going to be the answer. I though everyone was building up a QB that would fall mightily. But, he has proven me wrong. I still think he might drop off in the playoffs, or next year. I hope I'm wrong. I hope he goes on to be Tom Brady or even Jake Delhomme would be fine. I just get nervous when people build a guy up, only to bash him on his way down. If he just became a serviceable starter, that would have been an accomplishment for an undrafted QB from Eastern Illinois. Now a playoff berth and a Pro Bowl? If he becomes a "failure" anytime soon, I won't be one to bash him.

-Carmelo Anthony's suspension came out the other day. 15 games is pretty good. More would not have bothered me. The NBA cannot seem to get rid of its "thug" image. I think it's not deserved, but most people only see what's on the news. By the way, I still think his punch was a cheap shot. I think he made the point that he was protecting his teammate way before the punch.

-Speaking of the Nuggets, they got Allen Iverson yesterday. I think it was an okay trade. Hard to get equal value for a star. A point guard replacement, an expiring contract and two first round picks is a pretty good haul, I guess. The Sixers revealed their hand way too early and risked not being able to get anything and having him sit out the whole year. Andre Miller is the 16th ranked point guard in the league, according to John Hollinger's Player Effiency Rating.  That's neither bad nor good. Two first round picks next year help them get younger. As for Denver's haul, it's hard to tell. Can Iverson and Anthony co-exist? I think so, but they won't have to until January 20th. It's going to be fun to see them playing together in any case.

-The geriatric Giants signed Ryan Klesko yesterday. What are they doing? I just want to know. All the old, beat up players put off retirement and go to San Francisco.
