Panthers Pound Red Storm

Blair and the Panthers had no trouble with the Red Storm

Pitt dismantled St. Johns tonight in New York, 81-57. To say that Pitt had an easy time of it would be an understatement. The Panthers grabbed an early lead and never looked back, getting their first road win vs. the Storm since 1995. The entire lineup played well, but Sam Young was the star on Wednesday. He scored 26 total, 18 in the second half, and scored 10 straight points in the middle of the second half. Also in double figures were Ramon with 16 and Blair with 10. D.J. Kennedy, who I mentioned in my write-up before the game, scored 7 points and was 3-9 from the field.

As a side note, WHYGAVS makes an interesting point today about a player the Pirates signed today. Guess who has accomplished such a strange litany of events during his...illustrious career:

-Started Game 7 in a World Series
-"Threw 10 and 2/3 innings last year and has only had one good year since the turn of the century."
-Agreed to a minor league contract with the Pirates today and was invited to Spring Training

If you guessed Jaret Wright...well, you're right. OK that was bad.
If you thought, "Who the heck is Jaret Wright?" you're probably a bit more on the normal side.
