The 5 finalists for the Heisman trophy are Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III, Montee Ball, Trent Richardson, and Tyrone Mathieu.
Face the truth folks, Richardson and Mathieu don't deserve to be considered. It's not that they had bad seasons, (Richardson averaged 132 rushing ypg and Mathieu was the top defensive player on the nation's best defense), it's just that there are others far more deserving.
LaMichael James: Led the country in rushing averaging 165 ypg. He also led the country in all-purpose ypg. That's 33 ypg than Richardson. His average per CARRY is 7.4 yards, while Richardson is 6.0. James actually deserves to be a finalist over Ball, as well as Richardson and Mathieu.
Kellen Moore: QB rating of 176.3, 41 touchdown passes. Keep in mind those stats were made while sitting out the fourth quarter of nearly all games. But for a missed field goal, after Moore got his team in position to win, Moore would've put his team in the BCS championship.
Case Keenum: An even higher QB rating than Moore, 187.3, with 43 TD's against only 3 interceptions.
Honorable mention: Matt Barkley, Brandon Weedon, Jordan White (WR, Western Mich.), David Amerson DB, NCState, more deserving defensive back than Mathieu).

I am with you on the Richardson case, he gets all the hype because of his team. The kid is a beast, but he doesn't have the number for the trophy.
