I'm glad for Tony and Zippy, but it is still a bum deal for Grubb. There must have been a personality clash or something there. Does anyone know why they wanted to dump Grubb?

I think it had to do with the poor performance during the first 26 races. Tony was quoted as saying that they didn't even belong in the chase.

Looking at results, the first 26 don't really count. That's sandbagging time. LOL

I think earlier in the season, Tony got "wind" of Addington and Zippy wanting to make changes......(I always figured they would eventually get together someday).....and Tony not winning was perfect excuse to get everything into play to dump Grubb........but I agree with Burgh-Fan....there must have been some clashing going on too.....Tony looked a bit of a fool dumping his crew chief after winning 5 Chase races and the Championship......deals must have already been signed and delivered......just not announced unti all was over.

Don't you mean he became an owner? But yes he did change overnight.

I still remember the last time he won. He thanked the Frances for inviting him to their hauler after so many of the races. Tony also gave the Emcee (I forget his name) a gift certificate to an anger management class. I thought it was hysterical.

Your boy Tony always was and still is a "hypocritical fake"!

I liked him better before he became an owner. Back then he would take a 10th place car and try to win with it. Didn't always work out for him, but he made some interesting races and exciting wrecks.

I must of had a brain freeze when I was typing that. LOL A true case of Jekyll and Hyde. I liked the old Tony.

I did not like the old Tony....nor do I like the new one........all corporate and empty....but the in between Tony was great.....even though it did not last too long.......I hate it when they cross over to the "Puppet" side of things.
