I've found that the throwdown section isn't the best place to disuss rodeo events and riding horses.  I'm hoping there are enough people that enjoy rodeos or riding horses on this site to form a fairly active group to discuss these things.

I've been a rodeo fan pretty much all of my life.  I've roe a few bulls in practice runs, never made it 8 seconds, and decided bull riding is better for me to watch than to participate in.  I did get to cross something off my bucket list though.

My favorite bull rider of all time is Justin McBride, I'll never forget his championship ride in 2007, which made him only the econd multi time PBR World Finals champion.

Ever since Justin retired, and pursued a music career(which I highly recommend checking out), I don't have a current favorite, I simply watch with no bias at all, and try to learn new things along the way.

I rarely miss a PBR event, but I've also recently got into the National Finals Rodeo on GAC.  I like how they show more than just bronc and bull riding and show roping events, steer wrestling and barrell racing as well.

For horse riding, I used to go virtually every weekend with my grandpa to Nimberwill(near the start of the Appalachian Trail) to ride the trails of the Dawson Forest on Bull Mountain and Jake Montain.  I roe an old quarter horse named Maggie May, who was the most gentle horse I've ever been around, and my grandpa rode a paint horse named Frosty(who sent me to the hospital with a kick to the head).  It made for some great memories.  My grandpa's back started giving him trouble a few years ago, and he sold the horses, and I haven't rode since, but I miss it a lot.

If you share the same nterests, or have more to add, or even if you just like rodeo songs, I would love it if you would join and participate in the group.

All members will have blogging rights, and for now, he group will remain open for anyone to join.

Dated a girl in high school who had a mare and a filly. Filly would follow me all around nuzzling me like a puppy.

We had some fun riding her horse. I'll leave the rest to your imagination.
