After enjoying another season of college football I’ve become a little disappointed that we are going to crown the champion in the manner that we will. Last year it seemed to work out well but this year as in prior years there are controversies abound! We are told that this is never going to change because we don’t want to move away from bowl traditions. Well let me tell you — tradition is out the door. Do we really care about the Rose, Orange, Sugar, Fiesta, etc. now that we know they aren’t for the title? Maybe a little in a NIT (sure we didn’t make it to the big dance but at least we’re still playin’ after the season is over) sort of way.
This de lima can be overcome. How? With money. It’s simple really. I’ve devised a system to make the huge pay outs, include all the conferences, and declare a true national champion! All I need now is a little funding.

First round teams receive a 1 million dollar pay out. Second round doubles to 2 million. Third round 4 million and finally 8 million per team that plays in the championship. The big conferences still theoretically will still get the biggest cut (SEC this year would have 4 teams in, Big Ten 3, etc) but it would be decided on the field. A smaller conference school could do a lot of damage if it could make it to the championship! The seeding would be decided similarly to the BCS rankings now. All conference champs are in with 5 at large bids. You could use the bowls as playoff venues (though the bowls would never go for it).
Ok, now that its solved lets get this thing decided on the field! Everyone shut up and play!
