Well, Raider Nation, we're still in it.  With a Denver loss and a win over the Chargers, the Raiders could make the playoffs for the first time since the 2002 season.

There were several key plays in this game to keep the season alive.

Matt Giordano's interception of Orton in the end zone with 3 minutes left in the 2nd quarter kept the Chiefs from scoring - had they scored either a TD or a FG there, there'd be no overtime needed.

Richard Seymour blocked a 49 yard FG attempt as time ran out in the first half and blocked another 49 yarder again as time ran out at the end of regulation.  HUGE plays which obviously were game changers.

Denarius Moore caught a 61 yard touchdown pass to give the Raiders the lead in the third quarter. A nice momentum shift.

Darrius Heyward-Bey caught a 53 yeard pass to set up the field goal in OT.

What week 17 will bring is anyone's guess. This season has been a roller coaster ride of ups and downs, highs and lows.  But for today, hope is still alive.

See that it may actually be better for us to be the Wildcard instead of Division Champs. #4 seed will get Pittsburg, and #6 seed gets Houston. We can beat Houston.Just win one more, Baby.

Wish it didn't require so much help to get the #6 seed. In addition to Denver winning vs the Chiefs, we'd also need Cinci & Tennessee both to lose OR a Cinci loss & Jets win.

The Bengals are a longshot to beat the Ravens. The Broncos lose to the Chiefs and the Raiders would win the West if they beat SD, LIHI.

I know that. It's the first line of the blog...

I'm talking about getting a #6 (wildcard) vs #4 (division winner) seed...

Well, first of all the Raiders need to win.Let the other pieces fall where they may.

Yeah. And it won't be easy.

It never really is. But there's always room for good luck and a smile from the football Gods.

Seattle made it to the 2nd round last year. If they can do it, any team can.

HA!

I don't think it will be as difficult as many think. SD has little to play for. Bush ran well vs SD the first time we played, and Palmer is a lot more familiar with the offense.

DJ, one thing this season should have proven is that no game is easy. The Raiders have lost several games that they should have won easily according to you.

Let's just keep the hopes up without using prior games to determine how they will play this time around. Because you know San Diego would LOVE to be a spoiler.

We beat Minny and Chicago. The only game I can think of that we should have won that we lost was Miami, but that was a road game and they were hot at the time.

Okay... But I seem to remember many comments for a few other games that didn't turn out the way you thought they would.

No matter. The most important game is Sunday. And hopefully it turns out the way we'd like it to.
