Every offseason Denver Bronco fans wonder, Who will be the starting RB next year? Ever since Terrell Davis retired it has been a RB carousel in Denver, with a different back rushing for a 1,000 yards each year. The names include, Clinton Portis, Mike Anderson, Tatum Bell and Reuben Droughns. After making a name for themselves these backs all left Denver for more money, but didn't experience the same success.

This year the Broncos may or may not look for another rusher, the current runningback stable is full right now with Travis Henry, Selvin Young, Andre Hall and Mike Bell all on the team. I wouldn't be very suprised if Travis Henry or Mike Bell play for another team next year, so RB is a posibility in the draft. If Denver picks a runningback in the draft I don't think it will be soon enough to get one of the top 4 (McFadden, Stewart, Mendenhall and Jones) se let me introduce you to a RB who will go latter in the draft and could be great in Denver, Tashard Choice.

Tashard Choice began his college career in Oklahoma, where he sat on the bench behind Adrian Peterson (who is now an NFL star and record holder), frustrated about not getting any playing time Choice transfered to Georgia Tech. Choice rushed for almost 3,500 yards and 41 touchdowns while playing for the Yellow Jackets.

2006 was Choice's junior year, he had a break out year, as he rushed for 1473 yards. Many analysists credited his success to opposing defences who concentrated on covering Calvin Johnson. Choice prooved them wrong in 2007 however, as he ran for 1,379 yards and improved his average by .3 yards per carry.

With the 2007 season over Tashard Choice was projected as a 4th or 5th rounder. However with a strong week of practice at the Senior Bowl (Choice ran for 29 yards on 7 carries) he may now go in the third round.

Tashard Choice would be a great fit in Denver, he has great vision and has good hands. When asked what it would be like to play in Denver Choice responded by saying, "If I had a chance, I understand it would be my responsibility to keep the trend [1000 yard rushers] going. You understand (Head Coach) Mike Shanahan, the whole offensive group, they love to run the football. (It is a) great zone-blocking team. Backs who are good -- in that system they excel."

As the NFL Draft approaches, Choice is one runningback everyone should keep there eyes on.

Little correction, Chioce transfered b/c his mother lives in Atlanta and was ill. He transfered to be close to her.

I have not heard anything outside of this group when it comes to drafting Choice. I think he would be a PERFECT FIT in Denver. But until I see them take him I'm not getting my hopes up too high.

Shanahan is famous for drafting runningbacks in the middle rounds and for those backs to flourish in the Broncos system. Choice would not be a surprise, how about the guy from Rutgers?

As a big broncos fan I would love to see them use a 4th or 5th round draft pick on Hart from UofM. There is no other back in college football to watch, he has great vision, used the same zone blocking system as the broncos (Bronco coaches went to UofM to help install the system). Hart might not break an 80 yarder but Barry Sanders never broke an 80 yarder either!

I'm all for getting a new RB. Just in the middle rounds, where Shanahan usually gets them.
