My first DP&S post in a few weeks.

This week, I'm going to a playlist on my Ipod, and posting the first 7 songs that come up.  It's not just a random collection of songs, it's songs that I usually only listen to when I'm on my way or just getting back from doing something I like to do more than just about anything that doesn't involve women, alcohol or fishing.

It's hunting.

These are the songs I listen to to get me pumped up for a hunt.  I usually start playing them a week before bow season starts, and stop when deer season ends.  Of course, I play it a bit during turkey season, or when I'm going on a hog hunt as well.  For some reason, they get me pumped up forit.

The songs don't have the best lyrics in the world, but maybe you'll like them half as much as I do.

Remember, Feedback is always appreciated, please comment after listening

Let's get the music started.

First up,

Rhett Akins and Colt Ford- Hawgs

The title says it all.  It's about hog hunting.  As you know, I'm a huge fan of Rhett Akins, and Colt Ford is a pretty big name down here.  It's off the Bone Collector Brotherhood Album.  Hope you enjoy.

Dallas Davidason-Buck Fever

Another singer and song featured on the Bone Collector album.  Dallas has never made it big, but he teams up with Rhett to write some songs here and there.  I'm a fan of his.  The pressure when the buck walks on you.

Colt Ford- Huntin the World

I think Colt Ford is considered Country Rap.  He has a huge following in Georgia, and was a co writer with Brantley Gilbert for Dirt Road Anthem.  Normally I don't like music like this, but I have to admit, I am a Colt Ford fan.

Johnny Horton- Ole Slew Foot

Johnny Horton is a legend, he married the widow of Hank Williams Sr, who he again widowed her when he was hit by a drunk driver on his motorcycle, a death he predicted.  The song is about hunting a bear that has been causing problems.

Jerry Reed- Amos Moses

I'm sure most of you know who Jerry Reed his.  He played Snowman on Smokey and the Bandit, and had many big hits.  This one is about a man named Amos Moses who is an alligator hunter, who the sherrif is trying to catch.

Tennessee Ernie Ford- Shotgun Boogie

Tennessee Ernie is another legend, famous for songs like the Ballad of Davey Crocket and 16 Tons.  This is about hunting various animals, and running from a woman's daddy with a shotgun.

Last, but not least

Pistol Annies- The Hunter's Wife

The Pistol Annies are a new band that Miranda Lambert started.  The song is about how they are tired of their husbands spending more time in the woods than with them.  All the more reason to hunt more IMO.

Hope you enjoy, thanks for listening

Miranda Lambert look good in leather right there.

But yeah, if I was hunter and I heard that song, I'd hunt even more.

One of the guys in our group of friends back in high school became a vegetarian. Whenever he lay on the propaganda too thick, we'd all go through the drive-thru and order 6 or 7 extra Quarter-Pounders for him just so we could throw them out the window and tell him that he is wasting meat by not eating it.

As promised, here's my read.

Rhett Akins and Colt Ford- Hawgs
Love the guitar rifts in the intro. That's a rock song with a bit too much twang in the vocal for my taste. You gotta understand, I'm a dang yankee. Funny material, tho.

Dallas Davidason-Buck Fever.
I like that one.

I had never heard of "Country Rap" although it makes sense. Thanks for introducing me to something new.

Jerry Reed- Amos Moses - LMAO. Enjoyed that one.

Pistol Annies- The Hunter's Wife
I'd attend that concert even if I was deaf. Hearing too.
