This Saturday at 10(I think, haven't checked the time yet) on Showtime, Strikeforce will have another night of fights.
This might not be the caliber of a card the UFC has been putting out lately, but most of these fights should be exciting. I never thought I would see Keith jardine in a title fight, but I do enjoy watching him fight. He's usually exciting until the KO punch lands.
The main card is...
Keith jardine vs Luke Rockhold for the Middleweight Championship. Rockhold is heavily favored as he should be, but if Jardine can keep the fight standing, it will be an interesting fight. Rockhold has a great ground game, and his standup isn't terrible, but Keith does have better standup IMO, if only he had a chin.
Robbie Lawler vs Adlan Amagov. Lawler might not be the best out there, but I love watching him fight. He always brings it, and win or lose, the fight is usually exciting. Amagov has KO power, but Lawler will easily be the toughest test of his career. A win over Lawler would be huge for Amagov's career going forward, and Lawler needs to win to avoid losing 3 in a row.
King Mo Lawal vs Lorenz Larkin. King Mo is a former champion in Strikeforce, and larkin is an undefeated young up and comer. This fight should be interesting. I've only seen Larkin fight a few times, so I don't know how good his take down defense is, but from what I have seen of both fighters, Larkin will need to keep the fight standing to win, and Lawal will need to get Larkin to the ground.
Tyron Woodley vs Jordan Mein. This one might be a bit lopsided in Woodley's favor. Woodley has been on a tear, and he's undefeated with great wrestling. This will be a big test for Mein, who has a few ugly losses on his belt. If Woodley can avoid a submission hold, I really can't see him losing.
Tarec Saffiedine vs Tyler Sinson. Honestly, I have never saw Sinson fight. Maybe somebody has that can educate me on him. Being that, I don't really know what to expect.

I had to put a little bet on The Dean of Mean at +400 even though he's probably overmatched. He'll probably get sonned, but his weird style can probably throw anybody for a bit of a loop.
Mein gets some hype on one of the Canadian websites I use, but even after 30 fights, I can't figure out whether he's the real deal.

Rumors today about BJ Penn unretiring.
Apparently he called out Nick Diaz publicly today for grabbing the fence during their fight or something.
My guess is that's a lead-in to set up a return fight at LW against little brother Nate since they both had the same experience of being undersized at WW.

Doesn't surprise me. I've always thought decisions made immediately following sporting events are too emotion-filled and can never be taken too serious.
