Seems like every time I go online to review the daily sports news lately I see a heavy dose of the Greatest NBA Player of Alltime and the over 72 records he holds . The writers are posing the question when will one of his records be broken . Kobe came close when he scored 84 points in a game 16 shy of tying Wilt's 100 point game in 1962, I guess scoring 100 points is not that easy to do in this watered down league . Nobody in any sport comes close to the number of records Wilt has set even if you combine the records of Babe Ruth , Aaron , Bonds , Mays , in baseball , Jim Brown , Montana , Rice , Manning , in football , and Bill Russell , Kareem , Magic , and Jordan's in basketball . This gaint of a man may have only won 2 championships but he set individual records that will never be broken . Uneducated fans say Jordan was the GOAT and he is the greatest shoe salesman of alltime . Least we forget the NBA changed the rules to help Jordan get every and one continuation call ever , outlawed zone defenses , and did more to so call help enhance the game for the fans , still no NBA players has broken any of Wilt's records yet . During Wilt's era they changed the landscape of the game to stop Wilt in his prime when no one player could that's why they allowed triple teams , zones , and the widening of the 3 second lane to keep him from getting even more points a game . The record books don't lie and he would have averaged a triple double his entire career if they had kept records of block shots during his era . Today January 2012 the sports writers are asking the question will any team break the 33 game winning streak his 1972 Lakers set . I'll answer that one for you like I have time and time again NO !
