All right..., first off, I am so tired of these so called 'retirements'..., first it was Neidermayer, now it's Teemu returning to the Ducks when the bulk of the season is over! Don't get me wrong..., I like these two guys on this team but, if they knew they were coming back, why couldn't they have just said it a month ago? It's true, the Ducks are better with these guys but really..., if the they wanted to play this season, they should've signed a long time earlier. The NHL has got to have a 'cut off' date for signings like this..., like if a Selanne doesn't sign before say, January 1, he's ineligible to play for that season! And now you know Forsberg gonna sign somewhere now.., probably on deadline day. Of course, with his history of injuries, he'll only play twenty anyway but the point is this..., it's becoming nuts. And how did Neidermayer get on the all star team when he hasn't played the entire season til now? Doesn't make any sense to me! He's played probably what, a dozen games so far and he's an all star? Ridiculous. Now everyone's saying the Ducks are going to repeat..., not a chance! Detroit's gonna roll to the Cup final, they got the goaltending, two of the best forwards in Zetterberg and Datsyuk, and a defense that one of the best in the league. I think the NHL would be better off if signings like this don't happen..., it takes away the credibility of the player if they take five months off during a season (without suspension or injury) and to expect that player to just, jump into the lineup and be the same guy? Forget it..., can't be done. Buttman needs to change this rule, if there even is one, and force teams like Anaheim to actually sign their players before the calendar changes..., and if the Selanne's and Neidermayer's and Forsberg's of the world don't like it, then do all a favor and hang the skates up.
