On February 17, 2011 I posted a blog advocating the trade of Carmelo Anthony to the Knicks. I claimed in that blog that the trading of role players for the purpose of obtaining a star in Carmelo (and a top point guard in Chauncey Billups) was worth it. How unbelievably wrong I was. Mea Culpa FanNation.

The Knicks have a losing record since acquiring Melo. He hasn't gelled at all with Amar'e and the D'Antoni "fast paced" offense looks stuck in quicksand on most nights. Dumping Billups in order to acquire Tyson Chandler (ironically another move I championed, but did not blog on at the time) also looks to be an error since by dumping Billups the Knicks lost a point guard that can initiate the pick and roll. Maybe, Baron returning to health can cure the pick and roll ills but that's a big IF with a player with health and motivational issues.

This blog will be short and sweet because it's more of a rant blog but when I look at the Knicks roster it's filled with names that should be leading the team to a much better season. However, it's names that just don't fit. It's like a jigsaw puzzle with missing pieces. You can put it together but you just can't complete the damn thing. So what do you do? Try to find the missing pieces or just admit that the whole damn thing is messed up and try again?

Mea Culpa FanNation.
