It's been a solid month or so since I've done a DP&S post, but I'm bored and have 3 hours to kill until my next class, so I figured I throw something out here.
Of all the posts I've done, I haven't made one featuring my favorite current artist out there.
As far as I'm concerned, he is the best singer, any genre out there today. He's a combination of Waylon and Willie, and a new breed of outlaw.
This post is featuring Eric Church
I'm sure many of you have heard some of his songs on the radio, and there will be a couple of those featured here, but it's the songs that are never released as singles that really makes him my favorite active singer.
Eric writes all of his songs, and is proof that real Country music is making a comeback.
On with the music.
First up,
Pledge Allegiance to the Hag
A great truibute to a Country legend. Merle makes an appearence in the last verse of the song. I probably listen to this song more than any other.
Next,
Smoke a Little Smoke
My favorite radio released song by Eric. What problems can't be solved with some drank and some smoke?
Next,
What I Almost Was
A great song about paying dues and dreams dying, but it all working out. An injury ended his shot at D-1 football. He left the opportunity to be married daddy's money. Then he loves paying the smokey bar dues.
Next,
These Boots
For some reason, listening to this song makes me want to give riding a bull another shot. One of my all time favorite songs.
Next,
Lightning
Eric was inspired to write this song after watching the green mile. It's about a death row prisoner on his final day of living.
Next,
Ain't Killed me Yet
A song about living a reckless lifestyle after his significant other left. He's surprised he's still alive.
Last, but not least,
Homeboy
A song about a lost brother going down the wrong road, and trying to get him to come back home and make things right.
Hope you enjoyed, comments would be appreciated.

He's not bad at all. What I appreciate is its a welcome relief from all the Pop music with jeans and boots.

good choices Outlaw, his voice and delivery are gonna make pretty much anything sound country, but along with the traditional stuff I especially like his nod to the other influences. nobody, especially here in the south, can avoid those cross influences. I was mainly a southern boogie/blues man for most of my younger days, but I was raised on traditional country and I love a good 3/4 time song followed by a loud raucous boot scooter. Thanks, I've heard some of these but now I know to look for Eric more often
