As Andy Warhol stated; "Everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame". The TRUTH asks whether this is a good or bad thing?

A century from now when the time capsule for 2011-2012 is unearthed investigators will likely determine this was the year of the unlikely hero. They will see the feel good story of NY Giants LB Chase Blackburn.  Then they will discover a Tim Tebow jersey.  Many will wonder what the big deal was? Others may be more troubled by the fact that Timmy's biggest foils were his coach (John Fox) and team president (Elway). It will be a study in the social perplexities of a bygone era.

The same can be said for "Lin-sanity". How does an ivy league basketball player even get to the NBA in the 21st century? Is this some David Stern-esque internship gone haywire?

The whole Lin-sanity dynamo is choc-o-block with intrigue. Jeremy Lin was cut by two teams prior to his stint with the Knicks and apparently was on the verge of a third pink slip when he was inserted into the lineup due to a rash of injuries and his coach's desperation to try something...anything...that might work.

 Well, apparently it has. Jeremy Lin has been on an unprecedented tear as of late averaging 24 points and 9 assists over a 10 game span that has NY fans excited about baseketball in a way that Carmelo Anthony could never do. Suddenly the Knicks are playing exciting and winning basketball. Shame it took this long, The TRUTH wonders what All-Star weekend would be like draped in Lin-sanity? Oh, wait, he IS going to be there!

This is where the TRUTH struggles with his feelings. We love sports for many reasons, one undoubtedly has to be the success stories like Jeremy Lin or the NY Giants Chase Blackburn who went from substitute teacher to Super Bowl champion in a period of two months. How can you not love it?

 How? I will tell you how. After getting every factoid and didjaknow crammed down our throats 24/7 it tends to lose its luster. In short after about 2-3 days we are ready to move on. So lets let the 15 mins of fame be just that, brief and enjoyable.
