As a basketball fan, you have to love how the New Orleans Hornets have played thus far this season. Despite only winning eight games so far this season, the Hornets have literally fought every opponent tooth and nail earning the respect of many in the league. Save for two blowout losses at the hands of the Phoenix Suns (2/1) and the Chicago Bulls (2/8), the Hornets hung around in every game to the bitter end losing by an average margin of 7.7 points per game. Six of those games were lost by ten points or less while three of them were lost by less than five points making the Hornets one of the toughest teams to play in the league. For a team with one of the worst records in the league, the Hornets certainly do not play like it as they are one of the league???s best defensive and hardest working team.

Credit should be given to Monty Williams for getting these Hornets to over-achieve as they have been doing thus far. He really should be considered for winning the league???s Coach of the Year award as he has brought the best out of players that no one even gave credit to. Regardless of the team???s poor record, he has gotten that team to play each game as if it was its last and squeezes out every drop of blood, sweat and tears out of his players. Despite having the third worst record in the league, no team can sleep on the New Orleans Hornets as once they face them, they will get the fight of their lives. And they have been doing thing without three of their key players???Emeka Okafor, Carl Landry and Jason Smith.. (Click here to finish reading this post and so much more on JT's Hoops Blog)
